When we moved here over 20 years ago, we wanted a dog-friendly, safe neighborhood in a great location in Durham, where we could actually enjoy our weekends…without yard work! We got that and more.
Dog-Friendly: We have been lucky enough to have 3 dogs during the time we have lived here at Woodstream Glen. The number of neighbors who either owned dogs or simply loved dogs has been very impressive. Walking our dogs together has been a great way to socialize, for both the dogs and humans. We have met many wonderful neighbors this way.
Safety: We have always felt safe walking our dogs anytime, even late at night. There is no thru-traffic in our neighborhood and the neighbors are vigilant for strange behaviors. Our home is an end unit, next to the street so both front and back entrances have high visibility. The neighborhood is well lit, which is a great deterrent to crime.
No Yard Work: Our HOA takes care of external maintenance so we never have to mow, trim or plant. When our landscapers don’t keep the standards we require, our management company makes the appropriate changes. The neighborhood has mature trees that are lush, shrubbery that is well maintained and substantial natural areas that help make Woodstream Glen a lovely place. We see deer, owls and eagles on a regular basis.
Neighbors: Woodstream Glen is a very diverse neighborhood. We have young medical professionals who work at UNC & Duke. Masters and Ph.D. level candidates, mature business professionals and retirees. We enjoy wonderful neighbors who come from all races and nationalities.
Woodstream Glen is close to UNC and Duke, with easy access to I-40/85 and 15-501. We are near great restaurants and shopping areas. We have our favorites and know that you will too.
